On a break.

Long time viewers will notice that I occasionally go on a break (normally without telling anyone) and I thought I should mention that I am on one now, I normally resume video making activities when I feel “back in the mood” to do it.

[edit] I will try to keep the blog updated as it requires less effort than making a video. If the break continues for too long then I will post some of that cheapo taken-from-a-podcast content like I do sometimes with the Mike McConnell or Dennis Prager shows. I try not to post too many videos like this as I see it as a little cheap to people expecting original content. However, there is good stuff to be had in some of these clips that is not already on youtube and I think others will like it.

The umbrella in particular is remembered as the symbol of the nineteenth century’s disturbing obsession with individualism. In Bellamy’s utopia, umbrellas have been replaced with retractable canopies so that everyone is protected from the rain equally.
“In the nineteenth century,” explains a character, “when it rained, the people of Boston put up three hundred thousand umbrellas over as many heads, and in the twentieth century they put up one umbrella over all the heads.”
