The fact that a "wage gap" is even propagated creates an air of resent towards all men by women. How could women not resent men if society goes around telling them they are being paid less than a man for the same job? What results do you think would come from that? You don't have to be a brainiac from smart-tron-five to figure it out!

Some good points in this clip.

Generally women favour different aspects to a job than men do. Women will prefer a job that is close-by, has flexible hours, has people they enjoy working with, and with job satisfaction. However, in-built in men is the instinct to provide, and money will often be the main proirity.

The umbrella in particular is remembered as the symbol of the nineteenth century’s disturbing obsession with individualism. In Bellamy’s utopia, umbrellas have been replaced with retractable canopies so that everyone is protected from the rain equally.
“In the nineteenth century,” explains a character, “when it rained, the people of Boston put up three hundred thousand umbrellas over as many heads, and in the twentieth century they put up one umbrella over all the heads.”
